These shorts are made from recycled bottles. It makes a lot of sense to recycle plastic bottles and make them into polyester/spandex. Despite its motley reputation, polyester is extremely durable and therefore sustainable over time. -But for God's sake don't get eaten by a shark, as it is in no way desirable that the polyester from these shorts end up in the sea..
