With a snap clip bungee for your harpoon, you make your underwater hunting a little easier and a little more fun
A bungee with snap clip has three advantages in particular that can make your underwater hunting a little easier.
If you have caught a fish, you can easily get it off your spear without having to get it past the barbs on the tip of the spear
Once you've got a nice fish on your spear, it's pretty easy to pull the fish back onto the spear, run it down the line and open your snap clip. This way you pull the fish off the line without having to get it past the two barbs that are normally on the tip of your spear.
Your bungee makes the recoil of your harpoon a lot less
Your harpoon probably has tremendous power and it can be quite an experience when you fire the spear from your harpoon. You can reduce the recoil on your harpoon by putting a bungee on the line, which thus absorbs part of the recoil or recoil and reduces the pressure you get back.
You can load your harpoon using much less force with a bungee
If you choose to use a bungee, it is much easier to tighten/load your harpoon and at the same time you avoid having a slack line hanging along the shaft.
