This sailor's mackerel was drawn at my dining table - and by the way, it is not the first mackerel that has been there. I got the idea for the design after a visit to Klitmøller. Here I was surprised that there were several hundred mackerel on land along the water's edge. I asked one of the locals about the phenomenon.
He said that it is because the mackerel are being chased by fat cod, and in a last desperate attempt to escape, simply choose to jump ashore. If this is true, it may not be many years before the mackerel evolutionarily adapts to the local environment. The first step must therefore be to buy a sweater and top hat. Growing arms and legs must be the next step ⚓
